Dishes

I do dishes at least twice a week, if not more frequently, but I am the only one who cleans the rest of the kitchen. My Mom is excluded from this gripe because she does clean it when she can, but the rest of my family seems to think that if the dish isn't in the sink, it doesn't need to be washed. They also have no idea how to wipe off the counter, which makes it nasty by the time it is my turn to do dishes again.

On the up side, for some reason, I like loading the dishwasher. I think I like the challenge of getting the most dishes in while they all get clean. I have become pretty good at this. Go figure, I am not so good at packing a car or truck for traveling.

I'm one of those people who doesn't think most things are worth fighting about, and so at most things that bother me, I just roll my eyes and move on... but when it is important I say something...

Or when I feel like I've had a bit too much, I can (secretly, usually) blow up over something small.

So this reminded me of how I was the only one of my roomates who would ever start the dishwasher or put stuff away. Loading it not so much... I would do things that were mostly clean, but not scrub. Roomate B was nice enough to scrub. So, I would do that, and actually didn't mind that no one else didn't start it or put stuff away

Until one day, roommate M says "can you not put the cups upside down in the cupboard, it bugs me when the top touches the cupboard."

Perfectly understandable, she wasn't mean about it or anything, but in my head I was thinking "I'll tell you what, when YOUUUUUUUU get strong enough to put the dishes away, you can put the cups however you want you ungrateful brat." I was all in a huff that day.

I'm glad I didn't say it though, cause she was actually a really nice roomate, and often slept with the light on while I was studying...

Anyhow, long pointless story.
