I know I wrote about this yesterday, but I am finished coding interviews! It has only taken the better part of five months to arrive at this point, but I am here, and I love it. There is still a lot to do before we start on the paper, but the end is in sight. It was kind of funny today when we (Bradley and Sarah) were editing the interviews. The transcriber accidentally wrote "moth" instead of "month" and Sarah was so tired that she busted up laughing. Between her tiredness and my humor of the situation we were both crying. I haven't laughed like that in ages. Sarah also fell asleep mid-sentence,which she vehemently denies, but Bradly and I know she did.
Speaking of finishing things, I finally got my blood drawn today (I've had the order since the beginning of November). They used a vein in my arm instead of my wrist or hand. She only poked my once and didn't dig around, so I was fine with that. They took three tubes though. The only time I was uncomfortable was during the last tube when my decided to slow down, she had to wiggle the needle. Other than that, I was pretty chill.
The only enlightening thing that I learned at the doctor today was I lost 10 pounds since the last time I was weighed in December. I am pretty excited about that. Maybe it will motivate me to lose even more. I have always had the desire to be under 200 pounds. I guess I learned two things today. I might be getting my jaw unlocked. I have not opened my mouth all the way in over two months. I am so excited.

Biological Warfare
So, today in my infant development class we were talking about reproduction. I don't really have a problem discussing reproduction in a mature manner, but that was before my teacher started comparing it to the storming of Normandy on D-Day. We started talking about how men produce 100 million sperm a day, and then discussed why so many sperm were needed. Apparently, out of the 500 million sperm that is ejaculated, only 100 actually make it to the egg. Technically speaking, you have a better chance of getting on American Idol than a sperm has of making it to the egg, let alone fertilizing it. So, what happens to all the sperm, you may ask? Roughly half of them don't make it out of the vagina, which is comparable to Normandy Beach (according to my teacher). The ones that do make it into the uterus have to deal with a direction problem and a hostile environment. On top of that, some sperm gallantly volunteer to stay behind and "guard the bridge" as it were, from possible foreigners (another WWII analogy). I can never look at the reproductive process again the same way. Biological warfare, who'd of thought.
On an entirely different note, I am finished coding interviews. Hallelujah! I now am one step closer to publishing. Yipee!

I know, I know
I understand that this is my third post today, but I have a lot to say since I decide to start writing. If anyone is interested, these thoughts actually come from today.
I had planned on doing so much today and didn't get half of it done. All I can say is that I am really watched over. I had to go to the Bishop's Storehouse today otherwise I was going to be out of food till who knows when. I got out of my meeting later than I had anticipated and it was snowing. On top of all that, I knew I had to stop and put gas in my car. I wasn't sure what time the storehouse closed, but I was sure that I wasn't going to make it, yet I felt the prompting to go. I was highly stressed because of the snow storm and thought for sure that I was wasting my time. I had several opportunities to turn around and almost did twice, but the gentle prompting of the Spirit told me that I would arrive safely at my destination and get there before the storehouse closed. I must say that driving 25 mph has never been my favorite, but I wanted to be safe so I continued to trudge along in the snow. I pulled up to the building and there were lights on and cars out front. I pulled in to a parking spot, got out of my car to check the closing time and I got there with 15 minutes to spare. Gratitude filled my heart. The one day a week that the storehouse was open past 4:30, and I could go. It may not seem like a miracle to anyone one but me, but I know that I was being watched over tonight.
It is funny how these little situations happen. Tonight reminded me of when I went to Audrey's wedding and I lost my oil cap on I-15 at the Point of the Mountain. I should have run out of oil on the 15, my car should have stopped working and I should have been stranded, but I wasn't I got off the freeway and could pull into the Wal-Mart parking lot and everything was fine because I felt I needed to 1.) put another quart of oil in before I left and 2.) I had a quart in my trunk. I should really write these expereices down more often.
My helpful hint for the day is to always follow the promptings of the Spirit, He will never lead steer you wrong.

President Hinckley
On Sunday evening., I was talking to my mom when she told me she would call me back and then hung up on me. I thought that my older brother was calling, so I didn't really care. Anywho, she called my back five minutes later and told me that President Hinckley had passed away. I then received a text from a friend baring the same news (I hear that the news traveled really fast that way). I was taken by surprise with this news, I know he was 97 and all, but part of me always thought that he would go on forever.
I have mixed feelings about him passing away. On one hand I am sad that he is gone. He was one of the most awesome people I have had the honor of meeting. His dynamic and engaging personality put all who came in his presences at ease. I loved his wit, Marjorie Pay Hinckley said that he never took life too seriously, except for those things that should be taken seriously. He was a wonderful person and I will sorely miss him. On the other hand, I am happy that he can be with his beloved wife again. There hasn't been a conference that has passed that he has not mentioned his loneliness at her passing. I am sure that their's was a joyous reunion in heaven.
He really was a Prophet of God. I know that from the bottom of my heart.

Reasons Why
In an effort to get myself to write about my life on a semi-regular basis, I have decided to start a blog. I have no idea where the rambling of my mind will take me, but I thought it was worth a try.
